Alex Bangay – General Manager
With 25 years of bloodstock experience, Alex is a well-known figure in the industry. Having spent seven years working for Khalid Abdullah at Juddmonte Farms and Banstead Manor Stud, she was appointed Assistant Manager at Shadwell Stud, the centre of Sheikh Hamdan Al Maktoum’s breeding and racing operation, where she stayed for ten years.
She has spent the last five years developing Ashbrittle Stud, concentrating on managing the mares and foals, as well as taking care of the marketing and administration.
Brendan Boyle – Stud Manager
Brendan has 20 years’ experience of all aspects of raising racehorses, from conception to full training. He is particularly experienced in preparing young horses for sale and has worked at leading stud farms and consigners in England, Ireland, America and New Zealand. Most recently, Brendan spent a year as Head Lad for David Loder, which also included breaking yearlings and managing horses requiring veterinary treatment and rehabilitation. Brendan attends most of the major sales in the UK and America and is available to discuss business enquiries with prospective clients at the sales.
Karen Condick – Stud Hand
Having worked with thoroughbreds for 20 years, Karen is very experienced in all aspects of breeding, rearing and preparing young horses both for racing and for the sales.
Alan Rose – Farm and Stud Hand
Alan is primarily responsible for maintaining the grassland and paddocks on the stud, including the annual hay-making and harvest. He is also fully experienced in farming and assists with the organic beef enterprise.
Alan used to work in the motor industry and is responsible for the maintenance of all the farm and stud vehicles and machinery.
